Philbrook Farm Inn Activities
Philbrook Farm Inn has been making people feel right at home since 1861, and why not? -- we Philbrooks live here too! Rest and sleep in our cozy rooms which are furnished with our family treasures. The serenity of the White Mountains and the friendly Philbrook ways will make you feel comfortable and carefree during your stay. After a good night's sleep there are so many choices of things to do.
HUNGRY - for some taste-tantalizing, delicious, New England cooking? We prepare everything in the kitchen from scratch and our baked goods are prepared daily. Our meats are the finest we can find, since we eat them too. Our garden and those of our neighbors provide us with veggies which have that certain something you can't describe. We serve a single entree at dinner but we will accommodate special diets if you will let us know in advance.
HIKING - a leisurely walk on Philbrook Farm trails or, for the more ambitious, these trails connect to the A.M.C. trail system and the Maine to Georgia Appalachian Trail.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING - Have you ever tried cross-country skiing through New England meadows and forests? Miles of natural trails are accessible right from our front door. Groomed trails can be found within short driving distance.
SNOWSHOEING - You'll get a whole new perspective on top of the snow.
SWIMMING - You may want to take a dip in our outdoor swimming pool (the barnyard pool) or in one of the clear natural swimming holes of our mountain streams
- ping-pong, pool table in our downstairs playroom, shuffleboard, horseshoes,
badminton, table games, jigsaw puzzles, and a library of classics, recent
publications, or state and local history for browsing.
ARTISTS AND WRITERS - will find Philbrook Farm a haven
of quiet and inspiration for their creative talents.
PEACE AND QUIET - We have plenty of that as well. You can sit in one of our antique rocking chairs by the fireplace, or on the porch, and do . . . nothing--or, you can stretch out and watch the weather patterns of the magnificent White Mountains and the Androscoggin Valley. We'll help put you at ease for your stay, because we want you to come back again . . . and again.
